Garry Rhodes Announces Run for House District 106 Seat

Garry M. Rhodes is a candidate for the 106th district seat of the Georgia House of Represent-atives. The 106th district includes the city of Snellville, and portions of Lilburn, Grayson, Lawrenceville, and Centerville.
Rhodes owns Optimum Results, an employee benefits firm, and also serves as a member of the local Aflac management team.
Garry is an active community member, having served in two appointed leadership positions within Gwinnett County, including serving as Chairman of the Gwinnett County Transit Advisory Board, and Vice-Chairman of the Gwinnett County Zoning board of appeals. He currently serves as a director on the board of his neighborhood home owner association.
Rhodes is the husband of Candace “Candy” Rhodes and father to daughters, Alexandra, Brianna, and sons, Callen and Drew. The Rhodes family has lived in their current Gwinnett County home for the past thirteen years. The Rhodes children attend Pharr Elementary, McConnell Middle, and Grayson High School. He and his family have been active members of Cannon United Methodist Church since moving to the area.
Rhodes was honored as the “2003 Businessman of the Year” by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC). He served as a member of President Bush’s Presidential Business Commission during 2004. He was recently honored in February for his “unyielding support of the Republican Party, outstanding leadership in business and for displaying a commitment to President Ronald Reagan’s vision for an entrepreneurial America” in a press release from House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX). Commenting on the selection, Congressman Tom Reynolds, Chairman of the NRCC said, “Mr. Rhodes has served as an Honorary Chairman of the Business Advisory Council and has provided much needed support. This award could not have gone to a more deserving candidate.”
